Hyundai Motor India launched two variants of its premium compact hatch pack i20 priced at Rs. 772,000 (US$ 16,083) for the top end model in the Indian market.

The i20 1.4L diesel version is priced at Rs. 610,000 and goes up to Rs. 720,000, while the 1.4L petrol is priced between Rs. 731,000 to Rs. 772,000. The 1.4L petrol come with a automatic transmission.

"The launch of i20 diesel is a proud moment for us especially after the immense success of i20 both in Indian and overseas market. Both the variants, while offering the much needed fuel-economy to our customers, will also provide superior technology and best-in-class performance," Hyundai Motor India managing director H S Lheem said.

The company had launched the base model of i20 in December last year and has sold over 72,000 units in the domestic market so far.
