Malaysian 2012 Honda Civic revealed
Livelifedrive.com, 8 Feb '12

You will be disappointed if you are expecting big changes from the Civic already available in the US. It is clear that the lower front bumper is of a different design, and the tail-lights now extend onto the bootlid. The interior appears carried over without any changes.

Four Honda Civic variants will be available in Singapore, and likely Malaysia as well: a 1.6-litre i-VTEC engine with 125 HP at 6500 rpm and 151 Nm at 4300 rpm; a 1.8-litre i-VTEC engine with 142 HP at 6500 rpm and 174 Nm at 4300 rpm; a 2.0-litre i-VTEC engine with 155 HP at 6500 rpm and 190 Nm at 4300 rpm; and the 110 PS, 174 Nm Hybrid that pairs a 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine to an electric motor powered by a lithium-ion battery pack.

A CVT is standard for the Civic Hybrid, which is visually differentiated by a grille decorated with LEDs and alloy wheels with less spokes. A five-speed automatic transmission with paddle-shifters is standard for the three non-hybrid Civic variants.

Those numbers compare slightly positively to the 140 HP at 6300 rpm and 174 Nm at 4300 rpm derived from the current 1.8-litre i-VTEC engine and 155 HP at 6500 rpm and 188 Nm at 4500 rpm from the 2.0-litre i-VTEC engine, both of which are mated to a five-speed automatic gearbox.
