Volkswagen has launched the 2014 Polo GT TDI and TSI.

The new Polo GT TDI gets a 1.5-litre TDI engine this time instead of the 1.6-litre mill which propelled the out-going fast hatch. It still makes an identical 105 PS and 250 Nm.

With its four-cylinder, 1.2-litre TSI turbo-charged petrol engine, the new Polo GT TSI packs 105 PS, which is backed-up by 175 Nm and it essentially is the same car, except for a few styling updates.

The Polo GT TDI carries an ARAI rated efficiency figure of 19.91 km/l whereas the Polo GT TSI continues with the 7-speed DSG transmission and returns a figure of 17.21 km/l.

Design and styling changes on the new Polo GT cars include a new front grille, new front bumper with integrated fog lamps and cornering lights, new headlamps, new rear bumper with integrated license-plate carrier and reflectors and new alloy wheels.

The car's revamped, all-black interiors feature new fabrics for the seat upholstery, aluminium inserts in the pedals and a sportier, flat-bottom steering wheel.

The Polo GT TDI and TSI have been priced identically at Rs. 799,000 (US$ 13,120), ex-showroom, Delhi.
