BMW to introduce new E20 models in Thailand
Nation, 4 Mar '10

BMW will introduce three more E20-compatible models in Thailand, following the positive response to the first model, the 320iSE, which was launched earlier this year.

Karl Rudiger, sale and marketing manager, said the 318i, 325i and 730Li will help strengthen the line of petrol-driven products, as at present diesel products contribute 60 per cent of total revenue. Rudiger expects a more even ratio in the near future. In the first two months, BMW has sold 400 units in Thailand, registering double growth from the same period last year.

Last year, excise taxes on E20 vehicles were lowered from 30% to 25%. Thanks to lower taxes, the 318i's price tag has been reduced by Bt100,000 (US$ 3,000) to Bt2.299 million.
