BYD has introduced the Atto 1, also known as the Seagull, in Thailand at this year's Bangkok International Motor Show. With prices starting from THB 429,900 (US$ 13,120), the model is positioned among the more affordable electric vehicles available in the country.
The base Dynamic variant is equipped with a front electric motor producing 75 PS (74 hp or 55 kW) and 135 Nm of torque. It achieves a 0-50 km/h time of 4.9 seconds and offers Eco, Normal and Sport driving modes.
The motor is powered by BYD's Blade lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery with a capacity of 30.08 kWh, providing a range of 300 km under the NEDC standard, or approximately 240 km based on the WLTP cycle. The Dynamic variant supports AC charging at up to 6.6 kW and DC fast charging of up to 30 kW.
The Premium variant, priced at THB 459,900, retains the same motor but features an increased battery capacity of 38.88 kWh. This extends the range to up to 380 km (NEDC) or 304 km (WLTP). AC charging remains at 6.6 kW, while DC charging capability increases to 40 kW. Both variants are equipped with a vehicle-to-load (V2L) system and 16-inch wheels.
Standard equipment includes automatic LED headlamps, LED daytime running lights, LED tail lamps, rain-sensing wipers, a seven-inch digital instrument cluster, synthetic leather upholstery, a 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, four speakers, an NFC card key, automatic air conditioning with PM2.5 filtration, a rear-view camera, and four airbags (front and side curtain), along with safety systems such as ABS, traction control, and vehicle dynamic control.
The Premium variant additionally includes tilt and telescopic steering adjustment (tilt-only for the Dynamic), a six-way powered driver's seat, a wireless charging pad, and additional front side airbags. It is also equipped with an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS), including adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition, autonomous emergency braking, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, lane departure prevention, automatic high beam, and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
The interior is finished in black and grey across the range. Exterior colour options include Shell White, Quantum Black, Pop Green, and Velocity Blue, with the Dynamic variant limited to the first two.
Positioned below the BYD Dolphin, the Atto 1 is the smallest electric model offered by BYD in Thailand, measuring 3,925 mm in length, 1,720 mm in width, 1,590 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,500 mm. By comparison, the Dolphin measures 4,290 mm in length, 1,770 mm in width, 1,570 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,700 mm.
