BYD to build new-energy commercial vehicle factory in Wuhan

China's BYD has announced that it will invest ¥3 billion (US$ 480 million) into building a new-energy vehicle (NEV) factory in Wuhan. It will be used to build their K-series and T-Series BEVs, according to a local news report. The centre will begin with annual production of 1,000 BEV buses, and then set its sights on commercial trucks. BYD has NEV factories in Shenzhen, Xi'an, Changsha and Nanjing. Their 2014 Q1 NEV sales were 3000 units, surpassing sales for the entire 2013 year.
