Bosch, TSF Group form joint venture to manufacture, expand CV air systems

Bosch announced on May 20th a joint venture with Chennai-based TSF Group companies, Brakes India and Wheels India, to manufacture and expand air systems for commercial vehicles.
The proposed venture will be a 50:50 partnership between Bosch and TSF Group companies, represented by Brakes India and Wheels India.
Operations are expected to commence by the end of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals, Bosch stated.
"At Bosch, capabilities are being expanded in the commercial vehicle sector, this joint venture is aimed at developing air systems. The integration of engineering and manufacturing capabilities is intended to support the development of modules for commercial vehicle applications," said Guruprasad Mudlapur, President of the Bosch Group in India and Managing Director of Bosch.
The joint venture will focus on engineering, manufacturing, and sales of electronically controlled, software-driven modules for air compression, air processing, air suspension, and air parking brakes.
"The commercial vehicle industry is undergoing a shift from mechanical hardware to software-driven architecture, the planned joint venture expands Bosch's commercial vehicle motion management portfolio and its role in software-driven mobility," said Sandeep Nelamangala, Joint Managing Director of Bosch and President of Bosch Mobility India.
The companies stated that the registered office of the joint venture will be in Chennai, while the global supply chain, including operations in India, will be jointly managed by Bosch, Brakes India, and Wheels India entities.
"This development represents a move towards a system-level approach for OEMs in the commercial vehicle sector, brakes India contributes expertise in pneumatic braking systems. Through this joint venture, air braking system components for future mobility applications will be supplied to customers. The collaboration is intended to support the transition towards electronically controlled and software-driven systems," said Sriram Viji, Managing Director of Brakes India.
Srivats Ram, Chairman and Managing Director of Wheels India, stated that the collaboration will support the development of electronic air suspension systems for global customers.
