Ford set to launch all-new Territory SUV with petrol, hybrid options

Ford is preparing to introduce the Territory in Taiwan's mid-size SUV segment, with the model confirmed to feature both petrol and hybrid powertrain options.
Recent test data submitted to the Ministry of Environment has disclosed its powertrain specifications, confirming a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine and a hybrid option, positioning it as a mid-size SUV competitor to the Toyota RAV4 and Hyundai Tucson.
Industry reports indicate that Ford Lio Ho intends to produce the Territory locally. The model has appeared in Taiwan's monthly domestic production and sales reports, while camouflaged prototypes have been observed on public roads.
The Ministry of Environment's recent noise test approval confirms the availability of dual power configurations.
According to publicly available test results, Ford submitted five versions of the Territory - three petrol-powered and two hybrid - electric-which are expected to represent the forthcoming trim levels.
Overseas specifications show that the petrol model is equipped with a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine paired with a seven-speed automatic transmission, producing 160 PS and 247 Nm of torque.
The hybrid variant combines a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine with an electric motor and a 1.83 kWh battery pack, connected to a two-speed hybrid transmission.
The hybrid system generates 150 PS and 230 Nm from the engine, while the electric motor produces 215 PS and 315 Nm. The manufacturer reports an average fuel efficiency of 19.6 km/ litre (NEDC).
