Geely Auto Indonesia is intensifying its efforts to strengthen its presence in the national automotive market.
Following the introduction of its first two models, the company has now confirmed its expansion plans, announcing that a total of seven models will be presented by 2027.
This initiative underscores Geely's commitment to not only participate in the electrified vehicle segment but also maintain a range of conventional internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles.
Geely Auto Indonesia Brand Director, Yusuf Anshori, stated that the company intends to introduce both electrified and conventional models.
"There will be two ICE models next year. There are already two models on sale (EX5 and Starray EM-i). Two additional ICE models next year will make four in total. Within the next two years, there will be seven models," Yusuf told reporters in Tangerang on October 29th, 2025.
He further explained that Geely plans to launch two battery electric vehicle (BEV) models, one plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) model, and two ICE models.
This launch plan reflects Geely's phased strategy in building a diverse product portfolio for the Indonesian market. With this line-up, the company aims to cater to a wide range of consumers, from conventional vehicle users to those ready to transition towards full electrification.
The move aligns with Geely Holding Group's global strategy, which identifies electrification and energy efficiency as key pillars of product development.
However, Yusuf emphasised that ICE models will continue to play an important role during Geely's initial expansion phase in Indonesia, considering the ongoing development of electric vehicle infrastructure.
At present, Geely has introduced the EX5, a fully electric SUV, and the Starray EM-i, a plug-in hybrid SUV.
These two models form the foundation for Geely's forthcoming line-up, which will complete the company's Indonesian portfolio within the next two years.
With its target of introducing seven models by 2027, Geely aims to establish itself as a major player in the Indonesian automotive industry, competing with other leading brands from Japan, Korea, and China.
