Great Wall C30 sedan to get 1.3L engine
chinaautoweb.com, 31 May '12

Great Wall Motor has obtained environmental certification for a new version of its popular C30 (used to be called Voleex C30), according to a recent publication from the Ministry of Environmental Protection.

The upcoming C30 features a smaller, 1.3L engine, Great Wall's GW4G13. Found on current Great Wall models of the Florid and Haval M1, the all-aluminium 1.3L VVT engine can develop up to 68kW of power and 118Nm of torque.

On the C30, it will be matched with a 5MT. Currently, the C30 has only one engine option, the 1.5L VVT rated 78kW/6000rpm and 138Nm/4200rpm; it sells for 64,500-83,500 Yuan (US$ 10,100-13,100).

First released in May 2010, the C30 was the inaugural member of Great Wall's sedan line-up, and has been one of the best selling cars from native automakers.

It delivered over 50,000 units in the first four months of this year, which amount to more than a third of Great Wall's total sales during this period. The launch of 1.3 models is expected to push the prices lower and further increase the car's popularity.
