Maruti Suzuki Swift face-lift may be launched in July
If a new report that has surfaced online is to be believed, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (MSIL), India's largest-selling car manufacturer, plans to launch a face-lift of the selling Swift hatchback this year.
The same report goes on to say the new Swift will be launched in July. It is the very reason the manufacturer has been doling-out discounts on the current model.
Petrol variants of the Swift are currently available with a discount of Rs. 10,000 (US$ 170) while diesel models are being sold with a discount of Rs. 20,000.
Worth a mention is the fact the Swift face-lift is already on sale in many international markets and the same model is headed to India.
The highlight of the upcoming face-lift is the set of DRLs housed in the front bumper that look strikingly similar in shape to the ones on the Hyundai i20 face-lift. Other changes include a new design for the alloy-wheels - non-alloy wheel versions get new wheel-caps and new colour options. A new colour - Boost Blue (metallic), might also make it to India.
Inside, the car gets an upholstery change, Auto Up feature for the driver's power window, power-folding ORVMs and auto headlamps. New features that debut on the face-lift include push button start, cruise-control and Bluetooth connectivity.
It is being said the Dzire face-lift, which will be launched sometime after the introduction of the Swift face-lift, will have exactly the same updates.
Mechanically, both models are likely to remain unchanged.
