Mitsubishi Fuso sales up 179% in Philippines
Mitsubishi Motors Philippines on June 24th reported that sales of Fuso trucks grew 178.6 percent for the first five months of the year compared with the same period last year.
Sales of Fuso trucks and buses reached 628 units for January to May compared to only 227 units in 2013.
MMPC attributed this performance to the growing demand for brand new trucks especially for both multinational companies and growing enterprises, majority of which are much very much particular on logistics downtime caused by breakdown or accidents due to ageing fleet.
MMPC said Fuso trucks have been proven to be a tough and reliable business partner given its low running cost, durability and at the same time Japan built quality.
PC, LCV sales also upWhile the Fuso trucks and Rosa bus recorded highly significant sales increases, MMPC passenger cars and light commercial vehicles have also improved.
With the introduction of the Mirage G4 last year and with the growing popularity of the Mirage hatchback, sales for Passenger Cars improved by 36.6 percent. Both the Mirage and Mirage G4 offer outstanding fuel economy and value and features which continues to draw interest among subcompact car buyers.
With this, year-to date sales for MMPC Passenger Car models registered 5,073 units compared to the 3,714 units sold during the same period last year.
Meanwhile LCV sales modestly improved by 7.5 percent with total of 14,830 units sold for the first five months.
MMPC's bestselling models such as the Montero Sport, Strada, Adventure and L300 continue to attract significant share of the market.
