Omoda has introduced the C5 SHS-H in Vietnam, featuring a new-generation hybrid powertrain, updated design, and a range of modern equipment.
The model is positioned in the B+ segment, competing with vehicles such as the Toyota Corolla Cross and Honda HR-V. It is offered in two variants, Premium and Flagship, priced at VND 669 million and VND 749 million (US$ 25,400-28,400), respectively.
A fuel cost support programme over eight years reduces the effective prices to VND 599 million and VND 699 million. This programme applies to the first 99 customers who place a deposit.
Based on fuel consumption of approximately 4 litres per 100 km, an average daily travel distance of 25 km, and fuel prices of around VND 24,300 per litre, annual fuel costs are estimated at approximately VND 10 million, or around VND 80 million over eight years.
The C5 SHS-H measures 4,447 mm in length, 1,824 mm in width, and 1,588 mm in height, comparable to the Corolla Cross Hybrid. The design includes a revised front grille, roof rails, and updated rear styling, while retaining a coupe-like silhouette. The model is equipped with newly designed two-tone alloy wheels.
Inside, the vehicle features a 12.3-inch central display, an eight-speaker Sony audio system, a 540-degree camera system, double-layer soundproof glass, a PM0.3 fine dust filtration system, heated and ventilated seats, and remote start functionality.
The model is equipped with a Super Hybrid System (SHS), combining a petrol engine and an electric motor. It offers a driving range of over 1,000 km on a full tank and battery charge.
The powertrain includes a fifth-generation 1.5 TDGI hybrid engine with a thermal efficiency of up to 44.5%, producing 141 PS and 215 Nm of torque. This is paired with an electric motor delivering 201 PS and 310 Nm, enabling acceleration from 0-100 km/h in approximately 7.9 seconds and a top speed of 175 km/h. A hybrid DHT transmission with an efficiency of 98.5% connects the two power sources. The vehicle is equipped with a 1.83 kWh battery.
The rear multi-link suspension system is included to enhance stability and ride comfort, particularly at higher speeds and on varied road conditions.
Fuel consumption is approximately 4.9 litres per 100 km under NEDC standards, with energy regeneration during braking and deceleration contributing to efficiency.
In terms of safety, the Flagship variant is equipped with an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) featuring more than 16 functions, including a 540 HD camera, collision warning, emergency braking assist, lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and blind spot monitoring. The Premium variant includes a 540 HD camera, parking sensors, cruise control, and a speed limiter with warning.
Omoda provides a vehicle warranty of seven years or 1,000,000 km, an eight-year or 1,000,000 km warranty for the battery, and up to 10 years or 1,000,000 km for the engine. The company has also established parts warehouses in Hai Phong and Dong Nai, with nationwide parts supply expected within 48 hours.
