Omoda is set to enter Indonesia with the all-new O4 EV which made its world premiere in Indonesia at GIIAS BSD 2026.
The company has not yet announced the model's official price, although an announcement could be made at the GJAW event in November. Orders for the O4 EV are already open, while preparations for customer deliveries are underway.
It is positioned to compete with models such as the MG S5 EV, 4 EV, BYD Atto 3 and Geely EX5. Production is currently taking place at two locations, with Omoda & Jaecoo Indonesia planning to optimise the delivery process.
"As we know, orders for the Omoda O4 EV are already open, and preparations for customer deliveries are underway. Production is currently taking place at two locations, and we will optimise the delivery process. The reception during the Auto Show was excellent. The car features a very sporty design and incorporates AI technology; it is well-suited for those who enjoy driving themselves," stated Ryan Ferdian Tirto, Head of Product at Omoda & Jaecoo Indonesia, last weekend in South Jakarta.
O4 EV adopts Cyber Mecha design
The O4 EV adopts the "Cyber Mecha" visual language, combining robotic characteristics with modern SUV styling. The front end features sharp fascia contours and a split-light setup that separates the daytime running lights from the main headlights.
It features bold side body lines and moulding, while 18-inch two-tone aero wheels are fitted to the side profile. At the rear, the vehicle features arrow-shaped tail-lights, along with a spoiler and diffuser.
The O4 EV features a predominantly black interior, with the colour applied to the dashboard, headliner and seats. The cabin offers space for adult passengers around 175cm tall. Several physical buttons have been retained, particularly on the centre console, for operation. The driver's side has tilt and telescopic steering adjustments. The front seats feature electric adjustment for both the driver and passenger, along with ventilation.
65.05 kWh battery and claimed range of more than 500 km
The O4 EV uses a 65.05 kWh LFP battery and is claimed to offer a range of more than 500 km on a full charge. The vehicle can be used for daily commuting and long-distance travel. Charging supports the DC CCS2 standard, although the maximum charging rate has not yet been announced.
The electric SUV employs a single electric motor that powers the front wheels. This front-wheel-drive configuration is paired with a single-speed reduction-gear automatic transmission. The electric motor produces a maximum output of 217 PS and peak torque of 275 Nm. Disc brakes are fitted to all four wheels.
AI technology included in new electric SUV
The O4 EV incorporates artificial intelligence (AI) technology. While the technology was not demonstrated live to the media during the preview session, Omoda explained that the AI enables voice-command capabilities. Users will be able to ask about traffic conditions and receive route recommendations through voice commands.
The AI capabilities also include interactions similar to those with a digital assistant. Users can engage in conversations and request assistance for specific requirements, such as making restaurant reservations, through voice commands. Omoda has also confirmed that the AI-powered voice-command system will support the Indonesian language.
18 ADAS features and six airbags
The O4 EV is equipped with 18 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) features. However, the full list of functions for each system has not yet been disclosed, with more detailed information expected to be provided at the official launch.
In addition to ADAS, the O4 EV features six airbags for passenger protection. The vehicle also has a panoramic roof. The infotainment system uses a 13.2-inch head unit paired with an 8.8-inch instrument cluster.
The audio system comprises eight speakers, including an external speaker capable of producing "fun sound effects". All lighting systems use LED technology.
Price yet to be announced
The O4 EV's selling price remains undisclosed ahead of its market launch. Orders for the model are already open, although the official price has not yet been announced. Production is reportedly taking place at two locations to optimise deliveries to consumers.
It is expected to be launched in the Indonesian market soon, with the GJAW event in November a potential venue for the announcement of its official pricing and further launch details. Omoda & Jaecoo Indonesia reported a positive response during previous exhibitions, while the O4 EV adds another compact SUV option to the market.
