Proton e.MAS is set to enter the Brunei Darussalam market following the appointment of Grand Motors as the brand's authorised distributor in the country, marking the EV marque's expansion beyond Malaysia.
The appointment represents a new phase in Brunei's electric mobility landscape and forms part of Grand Motors' efforts to support the country's transition towards EV adoption.
With more than 40 years of experience in the automotive industry, Grand Motors has established its presence through the provision of vehicles and aftersales services in the local market. The addition of Proton e.MAS expands the company's portfolio and strengthens its focus on electric mobility solutions while contributing to the development of Brunei's EV ecosystem.
"We are pleased to introduce Proton e.MAS to Brunei and to contribute to the growing transition towards electric mobility. Our mission is to make EV ownership more accessible to Bruneians through products that offer value, technology, and practicality for everyday driving," said Frankie Ho, Managing Director of Grand Motors.
The entry into Brunei marks the latest step in Proton e.MAS's regional expansion strategy. The brand has established a presence in Malaysia through its focus on innovation, accessibility, and customer appeal. Grand Motors aims to build on this momentum and position Proton e.MAS among the leading EV brands in Brunei.
"Our ambition is to replicate the achievements of Proton e.MAS in Malaysia while establishing a strong foundation for long-term EV adoption in Brunei. We believe there is significant potential for electric mobility in the local market, and we are committed to delivering a seamless ownership experience supported by reliable service and aftersales support," Ho further added.
To support the market launch and long-term growth of the brand, Grand Motors will operate a dedicated Proton e.MAS showroom and service centre in Brunei. The facility will provide sales consultations, aftersales support, and servicing tailored specifically for electric vehicles.
Further announcements regarding the Proton e.MAS model range, showroom opening, and launch activities are expected in the coming months as the brand prepares to commence operations in the Brunei market.
