Toyota Philippines unveils new Innova Sport Runner
Top Gear Philippines, 14 Jan '10
Toyota Motor Philippines has just found a new way to spruce up its already top-selling commercial vehicle, with the introduction of the Innova Sport Runner in the local market. The Innova Sport Runner features an improved sporty exterior, thanks to its new overfenders, side skirts, rear spoiler, new front fog lamp, and 15-inch alloy wheels shod with wider 225/55 R15 tyres. The new Innova variant comes with the Sport Runner badge and in exclusive black or bronze exterior colors. Despite the sport-oriented looks, Toyota Philippines said the Innova Sport Runner retains the passenger car-like comfort the Innova is known for. "While the Innova has been consistently performing very well since its 2005 introduction, averaging 900 units per month in sales, we understand that there are customers who are also looking for a tougher or sportier look that will compliment the Innova's driving performance and riding comfort," said Raymond Rodriguez, Toyota Philippines first vice president for vehicle sales. "We are confident that this new variant will further solidify the Innova's position as the best-selling MPV, and will contribute to Toyota Philippines' overall sales leadership." The Toyota Innova Sport Runner comes with a D4-D 2.5-litre diesel engine in either manual transmission at P999,000 (US$ 21,900) or automatic transmission P1.064 million.
