Toyota launches FJ Cruiser in Indonesia

Toyota Astra Motors (TAM) launched on 23rd September its new sport utility vehicle (SUV), the Toyota FJ Cruiser, to fulfil domestic demand for adventure vehicles. "We expect, with the presence of the FJ Cruiser, that Toyota can meet demand from loyal fans of this legendary vehicle as well as our customers who love driving challenges," marketing director Joko Trisanyoto said after the event during the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) at the Jakarta International Expo in Kemayoran. The adventure-ready four wheel drive vehicle utilizes a 4,000 cc-engine and is designed to be able to run in various off-road conditions. The FJ Cruiser was developed from the FJ 40, popular in the 1950s.
