Updated Suzuki Jimny now available

Taiwan Suzuki has officially launched the updated Jimny in Taiwan, introducing upgrades to safety technology and in-car connectivity while retaining the off-road capability and boxy styling associated with the model since its debut in 1970.
Pricing starts at NTD 849,000 (US$ 26,450), with the two-tone exterior option available for an additional NTD 10,000. The new Jimny is now on sale nationwide, and test drives are available at Suzuki dealerships across Taiwan.
Advanced safety technology
The latest Jimny introduces Suzuki Safety Support, marking the model's first comprehensive update to its active safety systems. The package includes the new Dual Sensor Brake Support II (DSBS II), which combines a millimetre-wave radar with a monocular camera to detect vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists ahead, while supporting automatic emergency braking functions.
For the first time, the Jimny is also equipped with adaptive cruise control (ACC), enabling the vehicle to maintain a preset distance from traffic ahead automatically. Additional driver-assistance features include lane departure prevention (LDP) with gentle brake intervention, lane departure warning system (LDWS), traffic sign recognition (TSR), weaving alert driver fatigue monitoring, high beam assist (HBA), and the electronic stability programme (ESP).
Digital cockpit receives upgrades
While retaining its square-Profile design, five-slot grille, round LED headlights and clamshell bonnet, the updated Jimny features changes to the cabin.
A 9-inch infotainment touchscreen is now offered as standard and supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The system also integrates the rear-view camera and vehicle information display. The instrument cluster has been updated with a 4.2-inch multi-information LCD display. The dashboard retains its horizontal layout, while folding the rear seats increases cargo capacity to 377 litres. A wider tailgate opening and scratch- and stain-resistant interior materials are also included.
Off-road hardware retained
Although the technology package has been updated, the Jimny's mechanical foundation remains unchanged.
The model continues to utilise a ladder-frame chassis paired with front and rear three-link rigid axle suspension. Power is Provided by the existing 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. The Jimny also retains Suzuki's Allgrip Pro part-time four-wheel-drive system, allowing drivers to switch between 2H, 4H and 4L modes via a mechanical transfer case. Additional systems include an electronic limited-slip differential (LSD), hill hold control (HHC), and hill descent control (HDC).
It has an apProach angle of 37 degrees, a departure angle of 49 degrees, a breakover angle of 28 degrees, and 210mm of ground clearance. The updated Jimny is available at Suzuki dealerships across Taiwan from today. Customers who complete a test drive during the launch campaign will also receive a limited-edition Jimny Tomica model car, while stocks last.
