The VinFast VF5 has become the top vehicle of the year in Vietnam in 2024, surpassing the Mitsubishi Xpander.

VinFast's data reveals that the VF5 has made up a significant portion of the company's total vehicle sales in Vietnam for 2024. This achievement marks the VF5's first time reaching the status of the top-selling vehicle in the market.

Following the VF5 are the VF3 and the Mitsubishi Xpander, according to data from the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers Association (VAMA). The Ford Ranger ranks third.

The VF5 is the second VinFast model to be named "best-seller" for the year; the Fadil had previously held this title before being discontinued. The VF5 is classified as a small SUV designed for urban environments, alongside models such as the Toyota Raize, Kia Sonet, and Hyundai Venue.

Notable features of the VF5 include wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity, tyre pressure sensors, various ADAS functions, six airbags, and the ability to receive over-the-air software updates.

The retail price for the VF5 Plus has recently increased to VND 480 million (US$ 18,900) when opting for battery rental, or VND 540 million when purchasing the battery. The battery rental costs VND 1.4 million per month, with an option to upgrade to a heads-up display (HUD) for an additional VND 8.9 million.

The VF5 is popular with both individual consumers and businesses in the transportation sector, with some taxi companies placing large orders.
