VinFast to launch 7-seater Limo Green electric
IDN Times, 2 Oct '25
Vietnamese automaker VinFast is preparing to expand its presence in Indonesia with the introduction of the Limo Green, a 7-seater electric MPV intended for the family vehicle segment.
The Limo Green was presented to the Indonesian media during a visit to the VinFast factory in Dình Vu, Hai Phong, Vietnam, as part of the Media Trip 2025 - Beyond Mobility, Tour Into The Future event held from 22nd - 25th September 2025. At the time, the media were not permitted to test drive the vehicle or view its interior in detail.
In the Indonesian context, Limo Green is a distinct model from the Xanh SM electric taxi lineup based on the VFe34. In Vietnam, it is marketed as a separate 7-seater MPV.
The Limo Green will compete in the electrified family MPV segment alongside models such as the BYD M6, Aletra L8, and Toyota Kijang Innova Zenix Hybrid.
VinFast Indonesia CEO, Kariyanto Hardosoemarto, stated that the Limo Green could be introduced to Indonesia soon, noting that the 7-seater MPV segment represents a key market.
The Limo Green, already available in Vietnam, is priced at VND 749 million (US$ 28,380), equivalent to around IDR 471.6 (US$ 28,380).
It is capable of travelling up to 450 km on a single charge. Its battery charging time is relatively short, which is notable given the limited charging infrastructure in Indonesia.
It measures 4,740 mm in length, 1,872 mm in width, and 1,723 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,840 mm and a ground clearance of 170 mm, suitable for urban road conditions in Indonesia.
The electric MPV is powered by a 150 kW (204 PS) electric motor with a maximum torque of 280 Nm and uses a front-wheel-drive (FWD) configuration. The 60.13 kWh battery provides a range of up to 450 km under the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC).
With 80 kW DC fast-charging technology, the battery can be charged from 10% to 70% in approximately 30 minutes.
Standard features include a MacPherson strut suspension at the front and a multi-link suspension at the rear, with disc brakes on all four wheels.
While the interior has not yet been fully accessible to journalists, specifications indicate a cabin with a 10.1-inch touchscreen, single-zone automatic air conditioning, four speakers, and a driver's seat with six mechanical adjustments. The 7-seat layout and interior space are intended for family use in Indonesia.
VinFast currently offers a product line in Indonesia including the VF3, VFe34, VF5, VF6, and VF7.
The company is also preparing a factory in Subang, West Java, which is scheduled to be operational by the end of 2025.
With this infrastructure, the introduction of the Limo Green, a 7-seater electric MPV, is expected. If launched, it will provide a 7-seater electric option for family consumers.
