The highly anticipated seventh-generation Passat will debut in Singapore this Saturday, September 1st at both Volkswagen showrooms in Alexandra and Macpherson.

Priced at S$ 155,800 (US$ 124,300) with COE, the new Passat will be equipped with Volkswagen's 1.4TSI engine. Reaching a top speed of 203kmh, it races to 100km in 10.3 seconds.

Local media were treated to a sneak peak at the new saloon, which uses 6.4 litres of fuel per 100km, at an event last week. This translates to 148g/km of CO2 emissions qualifying it for a S$ 5,000 rebate under the new Carbon Emissions-Based Vehicle Scheme (CEVS) from January 1st, 2013.
