EV Primus, the official and sole manufacturer and distributor of Wuling electric vehicles in Thailand, has announced that deliveries of the Binguo EV - a five-door electric hatchback assembled in Thailand at the Laem Chabang plant in Chonburi Province - will commence in June.
The Thai-assembled Binguo EV has a design similar to the model previously imported from Indonesia, with the main change being the adoption of the CCS2 charging plug to support compatibility with public charging stations.
It uses battery packs manufactured in Thailand by NV Gotion, a Chinese company that has established a plant in Thailand for the assembly and distribution of electric vehicle batteries and energy storage systems.
The Binguo EV is built with a five-door hatchback body. It follows a design theme referred to as "Timeless Retro Design" and features curved body lines. The front lacks a traditional grille and includes a centrally positioned brand emblem.
It is equipped with X-shaped LED headlamps and taillamps. The front bumper incorporates a black mesh air intake and chrome trim along the front and sides of the vehicle.
The side profile includes black wheel arch accents. The vehicle comes with 15-inch wheels and 185/60 R15 tyres. The rear has a roof spoiler and a third brake light mounted at the base of the rear window. The vehicle measures 3,950 mm in length, 1,708 mm in width, 1,580 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,560 mm.
On the inside it features a two-tone beige and brown colour scheme, with chrome trim in selected areas. The dashboard has a rounded design. The base model includes a small display and two speakers. The seats are covered in fabric.
The dashboard includes two 10.25-inch LCD displays positioned above a two-spoke multifunction steering wheel.
One display functions as the instrument cluster, while the other serves as the infotainment screen. The system supports voice commands and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The centre console contains a rotary gear selector and an electronic parking brake. Higher variants feature seats upholstered in two-tone leather, with the driver's seat offering six-way power adjustment.
The Thai-assembled Binguo EV includes electrically adjustable side mirrors, power windows with one-touch up/down functionality on the driver's side, LED reading lights, smart keyless entry with a remote key, and an automatic start system.
It has a wheelbase that allows for an interior with rear luggage space of 310 litres. When the rear seats are folded, storage capacity increases to 790 litres.
Safety and driver assistance features include an anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD), electronic stability control, traction control, automatic door locking when the vehicle is in motion, an electric parking brake with auto brake hold, a reverse camera, rear parking sensors, two front airbags, Isofix child seat mounts, and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
The vehicle is powered by a front-mounted electric motor producing 50 kW (68 PS) and 150 Nm of torque, with a top speed of 120 km/h. It offers four driving modes: ECO, ECO+, Normal, and Sport.
It is paired with a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, produced locally, with a capacity of 31.9 kWh, offering a range of up to 333 km under the NEDC standard.
The vehicle uses a CCS2 charging connector and supports AC charging up to 6.6 kW, allowing a full charge in approximately 4 hours and 30 minutes.
It also supports DC charging up to 50 kW, enabling a charge from 30% to 80% in around 35 minutes.
The Binguo EV assembled in Thailand is available in three exterior colours: Milk Tea, Galaxy Blue, and Mousse Green.
The vehicle is priced at THB 399,000 (US$ 13,000), with deliveries beginning in June. Warranty coverage includes:
- A vehicle warranty of three years or 100,000 km
- A battery warranty of eight years or 120,000 km
- A passive lifetime warranty for the motor, battery, and controller
