Xiaomi to enter Philippines with YU7, SU7 models
Auto Industria, 25 May '26
Chinese consumer electronics company Xiaomi appears to be preparing its entry into the Philippine automotive market, indicating a potential expansion of the country's electric vehicle (EV) sector.
When Xiaomi announced several years ago that it would begin manufacturing vehicles, the development drew attention due to the company's background in smartphones and consumer electronics rather than automotive production. Since then, Xiaomi has partnered with BAIC Group to manufacture its EVs and has expanded its presence in the EV segment.
The company now appears to be preparing an official launch in the Philippines. This follows information and images provided by an anonymous source showing what appears to be an official Xiaomi dealership located in Baliuag. Based on the information received, the dealership is expected to offer both the YU7 SUV and the SU7 saloon, which are expected to form the brand's initial EV line-up in the country.
The YU7 SUV is expected to be offered initially with a single electric motor producing 320 PS and 528 Nm of torque, powered by a 96.3 kWh battery pack. The model is rated for up to 835 km of range under the CLTC testing standard, with a claimed 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 5.88 seconds and a top speed of 240 km/h.
Additional variants are also expected to be introduced. The YU7 Pro features dual electric motors producing a combined 496 PS and 690 Nm of torque, paired with a 101.7 kWh battery pack offering a claimed range of up to 770 km. The model is capable of accelerating from 0-100 km/h in 4.27 seconds.
The YU7 Max also uses a 101.7 kWh battery pack but increases output to 691 PS and 866 Nm of torque. Xiaomi claims a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 3.23 seconds and a driving range of up to 760 km.
According to the information received, the YU7 is expected to be priced at PHP 3.99 million (US$ 64,900), while the YU7 Pro is reportedly priced at PHP 4.29 million. The YU7 Max is expected to be priced at PHP 4.99 million. Alongside the SUV range, Xiaomi is also expected to introduce the SU7 saloon in the Philippines.
The standard SU7 features a single electric motor producing 299 PS and 400 Nm of torque, paired with a 73.6 kWh battery pack. Xiaomi claims a driving range of up to 668 km and a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 5.28 seconds. The SU7 Pro retains the same 299 PS single-motor configuration but uses a larger 94.3 kWh battery pack, extending the claimed driving range to 830 km. The larger battery pack results in a slightly slower 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 5.7 seconds.
At the top of the range is the SU7 Max, which features a 101 kWh battery pack and dual electric motors delivering a combined 673 PS and 618 Nm of torque. The model is capable of accelerating from 0-100 km/h in 2.78 seconds and offers a claimed range of up to 800 km.
Pricing for the SU7 range has not yet been disclosed, although the line-up is expected to be positioned below the YU7 range in terms of pricing.
With Xiaomi reportedly already operating a dealership in the Philippines, the company's formal entry into the local automotive market could take place in the near future, adding another EV brand to the country's electric mobility sector.
