The iCAUR automotive brand, part of Chery Group, plans to enter the Vietnamese market by the end of 2026 with two SUV models, the V27 and V23.

According to information announced by iCAUR representatives on October 21st, the brand plans to develop new energy vehicles featuring a boxy design and technology intended for everyday use. The selling prices, distribution network and specific configurations of the models for Vietnam have not yet been announced.

Two SUV models with different powertrain technologies

iCAUR is an automotive brand belonging to China's Chery Group and is present in more than 40 markets. Its vehicles feature defined lines, boxy bodies and angular profiles.

For its planned entry into Vietnam, iCAUR will initially introduce the V27 and V23. Although both models are SUVs, they use different powertrain technologies.

The V27 uses range-extended electric vehicle (REEV) technology. In this configuration, an electric motor drives the wheels, while an internal combustion engine operates as a generator to supply electricity to the system. The vehicle's battery can be charged externally, and its fuel tank can be refilled at conventional fuel stations. This arrangement allows the vehicle to operate using electric power while providing an additional energy source for journeys over longer distances or in areas with limited charging infrastructure.

According to specifications provided by the manufacturer, the V27's Golden REEV system features an electric motor with an output of 335 kW and torque of 505 Nm. The manufacturer also claims a thermal efficiency of 44.5% for the system. These figures have been announced by the manufacturer and have not been independently verified under operating conditions in Vietnam.

The V27 has a boxy body and proportions associated with traditional SUVs. According to the brand, the model's interior received the Best Interior Design award in the Luxury Car category at the Turin Automotive Design Award 2026. The V23 is a fully electric SUV powered by a battery-driven electric motor. Its box-shaped body has the wheels positioned close to the four corners, a layout intended to make use of the available interior space.

According to the company's announcement, the Super V23 version received recognition at the Red Dot Award: Design Concept 2026. The V23 also received a five-star safety rating from ASEAN NCAP.

Pricing and specifications for Vietnam yet to be announced

The planned introduction of the V27 and V23 would give iCAUR a presence in both the range-extended electric vehicle and fully electric vehicle segments in Vietnam. The suitability of each powertrain will depend on factors such as charging availability, travel distances and driving habits.

Specifications, equipment levels and assessment results announced in other markets do not necessarily apply to the versions that will be sold in Vietnam. Brand representatives have stated that details of the configurations intended for the Vietnamese market will be announced according to the company's schedule.

Factors relevant to iCAUR's market position will include selling prices, warranty policies, after-sales service, spare parts availability and access to charging infrastructure. Vehicle design and powertrain technology will also be considerations for prospective buyers.

The company has not yet announced detailed prices, specific launch dates or its dealer network in Vietnam. These details will provide further information about the brand's position in the electric SUV segment when distribution begins.
