Beijing-Benz Automotive, a joint venture established by Beijing Automotive Industry and German auto giant Daimler, has said its auto sales exceeded 100,000 units this year, 18 time more than it realized in 2006 and reflecting a compound average growth rate of 52%.

In 2012, Beijing Benz launched a series of new models including GLK Grand, 2012 E-class long-wheelbase, 2013 C-class and E300L Deluxe edition.

Beijing Benz Automotive was established in Beijing E-Town, a triple-A rated industrial park, in 2005. As a leading enterprise in Beijing E-Town's auto industry, Beijing Benz completed the reconstruction of its production line in March 2012, realized monthly output of 10,000 units in May and leads Beijing E-Town's auto industry to achieve double-digit growth.

In the first nine months of this year, Beijing E-Town's auto industry generated CNY 27.83 billion (US$ 4.46 billion) in output value, up 11.4% year on year and accounted for 17.5% of the industrial park's total industrial output value.

Beijing E-Town officially launched BBAC Suppliers Industrial park due to Beijing Benz's rapid development this year. Many major projects including ZF Friedrichshafen AG, Johnson Controls, Valeo Group, Magna International and Lear Corporation have set up business in the industrial park.

These world-famous enterprises have laid a solid foundation for Beijing South New Area to build an auto industry supply chain with annual potential output value of over CNY 100 billion.

According to Beijing E-Town's 12th five year plan, the industrial park will accelerate the development of high-end passenger cars, new energy vehicles, auto parts and auto related service industries to form an auto industry cluster with leading brands and technology.

It is expected that Beijing Benz auto industry chain will realize CNY 50 billion in output value by 2015.
