Heavy commercial vehicle maker AMW (Asia Motor Works) plans to increase its network and product range in the eastern region.

The company has already made a foray into a few markets in the region such as West Bengal, Jharkhand and in certain parts of Odisha.

Rich mineral resources that include the coal reserves and increased focus on hydro-electric power generation will create a good demand for the company's products, primarily tippers - a truck used for dumping an carrying materials, in the medium and heavy vehicle segment, said a press release issued by the company.

According to its release, tippers are used in the construction, mining and infrastructure sectors. In India, AMW has a fully integrated manufacturing unit at Bhuj in Gujarat.
