All-new Volkswagen Passat sedan has now been pre-released.

The Passat sedan published in the Chinese Intellectual Property Office is a China-only model and shares its design with the 9th generation Passat Variant, a single global standard wagon model. The powertrain is operated by a 1.5 petrol turbo and a 2.0 petrol turbo. It is produced in a Chinese factory.

Volkswagen deleted the sedan lineup through a full change to the 9th generation Passat on a global basis and launched a single wagon model.

However, Volkswagen plans to introduce the new Passat sedan in the third quarter of 2024 for the Chinese market, which has a high preference for sedans. The all-new Passat sedan is produced at the Volkswagen plant in China.

The new Passat sedan has a body size of 5,006 mm in length, 1,850 mm in width, 1,489 mm in height, and 2,871 mm in wheelbase. Compared to the 9th generation Passat Variant, the new Passat sedan is 89mm longer in overall length and 30mm longer in wheelbase. The exterior of the Passat full-change sedan is shared with the 9th generation Passat Variant.

Front of the car is equipped with headlamps reminiscent of Volkswagen electric vehicles and a smiling-style bumper. Uniquely designed LED graphics were applied to the rear tail lamp. A horizontal reflector is placed at the bottom of the bumper. It offers standard sunroof, wide sunroof, and panoramic sunroof options.

The new Passat sedan is based on the MQB platform and runs on a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder petrol turbo and a 2.0 litre 4-cylinder petrol turbo engine. Unlike global specifications, 48V mild hybrid is not installed. The 1.5 petrol turbo has a maximum output of 160 PS, and the 2.0 petrol turbo has a maximum output of 220 PS.
