BMW F 900 XR, R 12 nineT now available

BMW Motorrad has expanded its line-up in Malaysia with the introduction of two new motorcycles: the 2025 BMW F 900 XR and the 2025 BMW R 12 nineT.
These additions increase the variety available in the local market. The F 900 XR incorporates several technical and visual updates designed to enhance its suitability for long-distance riding.

Price
The 2025 BMW F 900 XR is priced at MYR 82,500 (US$ 19,500) (on the road, without insurance) in Malaysia.
Engine and performance
The motorcycle is powered by an 895-cc, two-cylinder, water-cooled engine that produces a maximum output of 106 PS at 7,500 rpm and a peak torque of 93 Nm at 6,750 rpm.
Power is transmitted via a 6-speed constant-mesh gearbox and a multi-disc clutch. The F 900 XR accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 3.6 seconds and can reach a top speed exceeding 200 km/h.
Design and features
The bike features an aerodynamic front fairing, a restyled wind deflector, and hand protectors. It also includes an engine spoiler finished in Racing Blue Metallic.
It is equipped with the Headlight Pro system and function-integrated turn indicator lights. It rides on 17-inch cast aluminium wheels and is fitted with torsion ally rigid upside-down telescopic forks with adjustable damping and preload.
Additional equipment includes a USB-C port (2.4 A), cruise control, a Keyless Ride system, and a rear case holder.
The 2025 R 12 nineT is a roadster that combines traditional design elements with modern components.

Price
The 2025 R 12 nineT is priced at MYR 124,500 (on the road, without insurance).
Engine and performance
The motorcycle is powered by a 1,170-cc air-/oil-cooled two-cylinder boxer engine, producing 111 PS at 7,000 rpm and 115 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. The engine is paired with a 6-speed claw-shift gearbox and a dry clutch. The bike accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 3.6 seconds and has a top speed exceeding 200 km/h.
Design and features
The motorcycle features a new tubular bridge steel spaceframe, with the rear frame attached seamlessly to the main frame.
It includes an aluminium fuel tank with brushed and clear-coated side panels, a redesigned seat, and a tail hump. The rider seat has been repositioned closer to the handlebars to improve ergonomics.
During the launch, Benjamin Nagel, Managing Director of BMW Group Malaysia, noted that the introduction of the F 900 XR and R 12 nineT follows the earlier release of the BMW S 1000 RR and F 900 GS Adventure.
He stated that the F 900 XR is aimed at riders seeking a balance of performance and practicality, while the R 12 nineT is intended for those preferring a more classic design. He further added that the F 900 XR offers a combination of sport-oriented riding characteristics and everyday usability, whereas the R 12 nineT adheres to the design principles of the previous BMW R nineT model.
