Kabar Oto, 11 Nov '24
Layur Astiti Bumi Kencana, the official importer and distributor of BMW Motorrad in Indonesia, has introduced its latest model: the BMW R 1300 GS Adventure.
This motorbike is engineered to conquer diverse terrains, from smooth city streets to rugged off-road trails.
Fransiska Ingrid, CEO of BMW Motorrad Indonesia, commented, "The BMW R 1300 GS Adventure is one of the most eagerly awaited models among our customers, the media, communities, and big bike enthusiasts across Indonesia. With this official launch, we aspire for this latest model in the GS line-up to become the top choice for riders wishing to explore Indonesia's breathtaking landscapes."
Shivapada Ray, Head of BMW Motorrad Southeast Asia and Importers APAC, also emphasised Indonesia's significance as a market for BMW Motorrad, particularly in the premium adventure motorcycle segment. "Indonesia is renowned for its extraordinary natural diversity, from high mountains and beautiful beaches to challenging off-road paths," he remarked.
The legendary twin-cylinder boxer engine returns as the powerhouse of the new R 1300 GS Adventure. This updated design, first introduced in the R 1300 GS, is notably more compact than its predecessor, achieved by positioning the transmission below the engine and rearranging the camshaft drive.
Delivering 147 PS from its 1,300 cc engine at 7,750 rpm, with a peak torque of 149 Nm at 6,500 rpm, this is the most powerful BMW boxer engine ever in mass production.
The new Electronic Dynamic Suspension Adjustment (DSA) comes standard, offering dynamic damping and spring rate adjustments along with load compensation. Optional factory features include adaptive ride height control, 'Comfort' ride height control, and ride height lowering.
A full LED headlight with a new matrix design and auxiliary lights is standard, along with advanced LED units on all sides with turn indicators integrated into the handguards. Automated Shift Assistant (ASA), enabling fully automatic clutch engagement with manual or automatic gear shifting, is available as an optional feature to enhance riding comfort.
Optional equipment includes a new aluminium top case and box with an integrated magnetic system for a USB charging socket and lighting, as well as an additional capacity option. The 30-litre aluminium fuel tank includes a practical tank bag mounting option and rubberised storage. Improved windscreen and handguards offer enhanced wind and weather protection.
The new R 1300 GS Adventure showcases high-level touring and off-road capability in the base variant and the Triple Black, GS Trophy, and Option 719 Karakorum editions.
It is offered at the following prices (all variants include Left, Right, and Top Aluminium Boxes):
