BMW Motorrad Malaysia has recently introduced updated versions of its premium scooters, the BMW C 400 X and BMW C 400 GT, both featuring enhanced standard equipment and technical upgrades aimed at improving urban mobility.
The BMW C 400 X is priced at MYR 47,500 (US$ 10,700), while the BMW C 400 GT is available for MYR 53,500. These prices include BMW Motorrad Malaysia's three-year warranty and roadside assistance but exclude insurance.
Both models retain their single-cylinder engines, producing 34 PS and 35 Nm of torque, paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) designed to deliver smooth performance for both daily commutes and longer journeys.
BMW has equipped both scooters with ABS Pro as standard, improving rider safety by maintaining stability during braking at steep lean angles. Dynamic Brake Control (DBC) is also included, preventing unintended acceleration during emergency braking.
Additional safety features include Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) and Engine Drag Torque Control (MSR), which enhance stability on slippery surfaces or during abrupt throttle changes.
In terms of technology, the BMW C 400 X features a 6.5-inch TFT display compatible with the BMW Motorrad Connected app. The BMW C 400 GT is equipped with a larger 10.25-inch display with Connectivity Pro, offering split-screen functionality and integrated navigation options.
Practicality has been improved on both models. The BMW C 400 X gains an additional 3 litres of under-seat storage, while the BMW C 400 GT offers up to 12 litres of increased storage capacity, including front compartments. The BMW C 400 GT also features a manually adjustable windshield as standard, enhancing comfort on longer rides.
Both scooters come equipped with luggage grids and are compatible with BMW's new 43.5-litre top case accessory, which provides increased payload capacity along with interior lighting and USB charging ports.
The BMW C 400 X also includes keyless ride functionality and the Headlight Pro feature as standard.
Visually, both models display distinctive styling. The BMW C 400 X features a rugged design with a Kalamata metallic matte finish, red and black seat accents, red rims, off-road-style tyres, gold brake calipers, and a heavily tinted windshield.
The BMW C 400 GT adopts a more refined appearance, known as the "Exclusive" look, featuring Diamond White metallic paint, gold rims, embroidered seats, footboard lighting, and gold brake calipers.
Benjamin Nagel, Managing Director of BMW Group Malaysia, highlighted the company's approach to the Urban Mobility segment. He stated, "The Urban Mobility segment was the second-best performing segment for BMW Motorrad Malaysia in 2024, only behind our Adventure bikes. While models like the electric BMW CE 02 and CE 04 demonstrate our move towards electrification, the new BMW C 400 X and GT reflect our strategy of Technology Openness, providing customers with choices suited for city riding."
BMW Group Financial Services Malaysia offers financing plans starting from MYR 668 per month for the BMW C 400 X and MYR 748 per month for the BMW C 400 GT, based on a 90% loan over seven years.
Customers also receive benefits including premium engine oil, inclusive servicing, and extended warranty packages.
