Geely is increasing its efforts to expand its presence in the Indonesian automotive market.
Following the launch of the EX5 electric vehicle, the Chinese manufacturer is preparing to introduce a new model, which is scheduled for release later in 2025.
Yusuf Anshori, Brand Director of Geely Auto Indonesia, announced that the new electric vehicle will be showcased at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2025 in July.
"At GIIAS, we will present a new electric vehicle, but it will only be an introduction. Whether the official launch will take place at GIIAS or elsewhere is still under consideration," Yusuf stated in Central Jakarta on 21st March 2025.
Yusuf also confirmed that, in addition to the EX5, Geely plans to introduce at least one new model in 2025. However, specific details regarding the specifications and features of the upcoming vehicle will remain undisclosed until the official launch.
Meanwhile, the EX5, which was introduced earlier, has received a positive response from consumers in Indonesia. To minimise delivery delays, Geely has shipped a number of units of the EX5 directly from China to Indonesia.
According to Victor Gao, Chief Executive Officer of Geely Auto Indonesia, the shipment from Guangzhou is expected to arrive this month and will be distributed promptly to customers who placed orders during the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2025.
"In the future, we also aim to establish a strong community where owners can share experiences and encourage more people to join," Victor stated.
