BYD's L3 model will be launched in China later this month, according to media sources.

The L3 is yet another improved model of the popular F3, which earlier sprouted the G3. The L3 will be powered by BYD's recently developed 1.8-litre engine and produces 90kw of power and 160Nm of torque, which will propel the L3 to 175kph.

The improved engine is supposed to offer low consumption, low NVH levels and low emissions. The 1.8-litre engine will also be mated to a CVT gearbox (with a sports mode as well), which is a diversion away from BYD's usual choice of 4 speed slushboxes.
