Brisbane-based EV charging and energy management start-up Evos has continued its overseas expansion, signing agreements to export its technology to Japan and being named the preferred EV charger supplier for the largest energy retailer in the Philippines.
Evos, founded in 2020, combines electric vehicle (EV) charging hardware with cloud computing software. On Wednesday, it announced that it had signed an agreement with Japanese manufacturer FKK to produce and sell its EV chargers in the Japanese market.
The licensing agreement will enable FKK to manufacture Evos EV chargers for sale in Japan, Southeast Asia, and even neighbouring India.
By partnering with FKK, Evos will be able to leverage the company's existing sales channels and geographical proximity to other markets, allowing it to export its technology to the region more quickly.
Conversely, FKK an advanced manufacturing company specialising in spark plugs and LED components since its establishment in 1954 will be able to enter the EV charging space with a ready-made and proven technological solution, including Evos' leading energy management cloud platform and Grid Integration Device (GID) systems.
FKK is already manufacturing Evos chargers under the newly announced agreement and expects to begin rolling them out to customers by the middle of the year.
''FKK has proven in over 70 years of operation that they manufacture with precision and develop high-quality, advanced products,'' said Marcelo Salgado, Evos CEO and co-founder.
Our suite of chargers manufactured by FKK will be no exception.
''This agreement ensures that we can create chargers that suit the Japanese market, which is a logical market for us to enter, given its established shipping lanes to other high-growth EV markets and free trade agreements with nations such as India.''
While Evos will continue to manufacture EV chargers for its home market, it will also continue to engineer and design products for global markets such as the Philippines, where it was recently announced as the preferred EV charger supplier for Movem, the largest energy retailer in the country.
