Electric taxis, equipped with CCTV and GPS, and monitored from a control room to ensure the safety of both drivers and passengers, are being planned for operations in Myanmar, according to E-Choice Taxi Company.
These taxis will be fitted with multiple CCTVs and GPS for enhanced safety. The company will operate a control room that will remain active throughout the journey, ensuring continuous monitoring of both drivers and passengers.
Each taxi will be equipped with four to five cameras: one at the front, one monitoring the driver and passengers, one in the trunk for luggage, and a sensor to continually monitor the driver. All footage will be available for real-time viewing in the control room.
The installation process is expected to take two to three weeks, with completion anticipated by the end of December, 2024 or the first week of January, 2025, at which point the taxis will begin operating. The first batch of 18 EV taxis has already been delivered, and service will commence with these vehicles.
"There are currently 18 vehicles in the first batch, and we will start with them. The primary focus is to provide passengers with a comfortable ride, and we have made arrangements to ensure this. The cars have now arrived," a company official stated.
