Autocar India, 24 Jul '25
Renault has launched the facelifted Triber in India, marking the first significant update to the compact MPV in approximately six years since its initial introduction.
The updated Triber is priced between Rs. 629,000 and Rs. 864,000 (US$ 7,280-10,000), reflecting a variant-specific price increase ranging from Rs. 14,000 to Rs. 41,000.
Renault's facelifted Triber features cosmetic enhancements and additional equipment, consistent with typical mid-cycle updates.
Price list and variants
- Authentic - Rs. 629,000
- Evolution - Rs. 724,000
- Techno - Rs. 799,000
- Emotion - Rs. 864,000
Exterior changes
Earlier media coverage, including teaser images and sightings of camouflaged test vehicles, indicated a redesigned front fascia. This includes reprofiled headlamps with LED daytime running lights, and a slimmer gloss-black grille featuring pronounced diagonal slats.
Further exterior revisions include a new bumper design incorporating a larger air intake and restyled fog lamps.
The most prominent change is the introduction of Renault's retro-style diamond logo, making its debut on a model for the Indian market. This emblem was also recently featured on the Renault Boreal SUV, which was unveiled globally earlier this month.
Modifications to the Triber's side profile are minimal, limited to newly designed 15-inch alloy wheels and gloss-black door handles replacing the previous chrome-finished units.
At the rear, a blacked-out trim now connects the smoked LED tail-lamps. The new Renault logo replaces the earlier 'Triber' badging, which has been repositioned lower on the tailgate.
Interior features
As anticipated by media sources, the interior of the Triber has received updates as part of the facelift. These include a combination of black and greige upholstery, a subtly revised dashboard layout, and an improved digital driver's display.
Key features remain unchanged, including the 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, push-button start/stop, and air-conditioning vents for the second and third rows.
Safety technologies
The facelift introduces significant safety upgrades. The model now comes equipped with six airbags as standard, compared to only dual front airbags in the outgoing version, which were limited to the top variant. Additional features include a 360-degree camera system and front parking sensors. Renault claims these features offer competitive advantages within the segment.
Engine and transmission options
The powertrain remains unchanged. The 2025 Triber continues to be powered by Renault's 1.0-litre, three-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine, which delivers an output of 73 PS and 96 Nm of torque.
This E20 fuel-compatible engine, also available in the Renault Kiger, is offered with a choice of a 5-speed manual transmission or an automated manual transmission (AMT).
There is currently no turbocharged petrol variant available, despite longstanding expectations for such an option. However, CNG retrofitment remains available on the facelifted Triber, supported by a three-year warranty.
