SAIC to unveil Roewe 350 car at Beijing auto show
Gasgoo, 3 Mar '10
SAIC Motor is planning to show its MG-inspired new car model Roewe 350 at the 2010 Beijing auto show in late April after the car's roll-out later this month, media reported. The Roewe 350, a brand new entry-level car model, will roll off the production line at SAIC's Nanjing plant, Jiangsu province, on March 17th, SinoCast said. The production 350 is reportedly equipped with a 1.5L engine, but a 1.5T is apparently in the works as well. The top Chinese carmaker, who acquired MG-buyer Nanjing Auto in early 2008, will announce the pricing of Roewe 350 at the Beijing show (Auto China 2010), a week-long auto event that will start on April 23rd. The prices are estimated at 80,000 yuan (US$ 11,700) to 100,000 yuan. The product portfolio revealed by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) for Roewe 350 include CSA7150MC and CSA7150AC, equipped with five-speed manual gearbox and four-speed automatic manual gearbox. The configuration of 350D, 350C, and 350S has been disclosed online by car fans. In terms of interior trim, 350D is designed with a black color, which is very sportive, while 350S is colored by half black and half cream. The Roewe 350 is derived from the Roewe N1 concept car displayed at the 2009 Shanghai auto show and is expected to compete against cars like the Volkswagen Golf.
