Seat to enter South Chinese markets
China Car Times, 23 Dec '09

VW's sub brand, Seat, is set to enter the southern Chinese market in a bid to gain a larger market share.

At the recent Guangzhou Auto Show, VW revealed its 'Southern Stratergy' to gain more market share and introduce more models into the area where it has been a little weak. The Skoda Superb was launched specifically with the goal of taking on the 'Old Japanese Three' (the Camry, Accord, and Teana) which are popular vehicles in the southern provinces.

VW is hoping that Skoda and Seat will be able to give VW more personality in the southern markets and will be able to pull consumers away from Japanese dealerships with different cars.

However, domestically built Seats not be launched until late 2012, according to a report.
