Singapore has announced a SGD 40,000 (US$ 30,030) incentive for owners of new zero-tailpipe emission heavy vehicles.
According to the Land Transport Authority (LTA), the incentive is part of the Heavy Vehicle Zero Emissions Scheme (HVZES) and will be available from 1st January 2026 until 31st December 2028.
''Under the HVZES, owners who register a zero-tailpipe emissions heavy goods vehicle or bus, including goods-cum-passenger vehicles, with a Maximum Laden Weight (MLW) of more than 3,500 kg will receive an incentive of SGD 40,000,'' the LTA stated.
Senior Minister of State for Transport, Amy Khor, said the government will also provide co-funding for the first 500 private heavy vehicle chargers, covering up to 50% of the installation cost, capped at SGD 30,000 per charger.
The SGD 40,000 incentive will be automatically disbursed in tranches to the vehicle owner over three years: SGD 13,000 upon vehicle registration, SGD 13,000 on the first anniversary, and SGD 14,000 on the second.
