Refreshed Model Y will start deliveries in China in late February, Tesla announced on its official website. That is earlier than the previous delivery start date set for March as Model Y was pending regulatory approval.
The limited Launch Edition will be available to purchase until February 28th, remaining unchanged.
The Facelifted Model Y, codenamed Juniper, was launched on January 10th in China. Two trim levels are on sale, with prices ranging from CNY 263,500 to CNY 303,500 (US$ 35,950 to US$ 41,400).
RWD Launch Edition
The new Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) Model Y has a 39 km range more than the previous version, increasing from 554 km to 593 km under CLTC conditions. This is thanks to improved energy consumption which decreased 1.1 kWh/100 km to 11.9 kWh/100 km.
It is also 10 kg heavier and still lacks an 800 V architecture. The battery is the same LFP 62.5 kWh as CATL, powering a single electric motor with 220 kW output. Compared with the previous version, the price was increased by CNY 13,600 to CNY 263,500.
AWD Launch Edition
The all-wheel drive (AWD) trim has a 719 km CLTC range, up 31 km from the previous version. The battery is the same 78.4 kWh ternary (NMC) from LG; the increased range is the result of increased energy efficiency, which is now 13.4 kWh/100 km. Dual motors have a combined power of 331 kW, providing acceleration of 0-100 km/h in 4.3 seconds.
The price is CNY 303,500 (US$ 41,400), up 4.3% from the previous version.
