Toyota Motor plans to rev up annual production in Indonesia to 300,000 vehicles in 2014, a senior executive said 20th September at the Indonesia International Motor Show.

Although its basic output capacity in Indonesia is currently 110,000 units, the automaker is believed to be churning out tens of thousands more by having employees work overtime.

Construction is taking place now to boost the capacity to 230,000 units in 2014. Production capacity will be ramped up further that year, to 250,000 units, according to Executive Vice President Yukitoshi Funo, with actual output likely to reach 300,000.

Toyota plans to launch at least four small models in Indonesia in the next four years, said Funo. It aims to solidify its position as the leader in the new-car market by offering a broad line-up, including its mainline minivans and low-priced vehicles.
