Vietnam, Belarus to jointly produce heavy-duty vehicles

According to the media sources, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has announced that Belarus and Vietnam are engaged in discussions to resume consistent machinery supplies and to establish joint manufacturing facilities.
President Lukashenko disclosed this information following his meeting with Party General Secretary To Lam in Minsk on 12th May.
"During the talks, serious attention was given to the manufacturing sector, particularly mechanical engineering. Both parties are in full agreement on the importance of resuming regular deliveries of rock haulers, trucks, and Belarusian tractors to Vietnamese customers," stated President Lukashenko.
He further added, "An agreement was also reached to expedite plans for joint production of Belarusian tractors and Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ) vehicles at the site of our Vietnamese partners, which will also serve other markets in the region."
MAZ is a state-owned automotive manufacturer in Belarus and is one of the largest in Eastern Europe.
