Following its pre-sale debut on August 6th, Volkswagen Taiwan has begun sending out invitations confirming that the all-new Caravelle will officially launch on October 2nd.
Orders are already open, with three variants available: Caravelle 150, Caravelle 170, and Caravelle 4Motion.
Pre-sale pricing is set at NTD 1.738 million (US$ 57,800), NTD 1.918 million, and NTD 2.118 million, respectively.
On the exterior, the new Caravelle adopts the latest T7 Multivan design language.
It features a layered front fascia, sculpted bumpers, and LED headlights and taillights, presenting a more refined and dynamic appearance that moves away from the traditional image of commercial vans.
Buyers can choose from eight exterior colours, ranging from classic shades such as white, black, and grey to more vibrant options including "Sunny Blue" and "Flame Red."
Internationally, the Caravelle is available in both short- and long-wheelbase configurations, though only the long-wheelbase version is being imported to Taiwan.
Measuring 5,450 mm in length with a 3,500 mm wheelbase, it is 100 mm longer than the current T6.1 Caravelle, providing a more spacious cabin. Inside, a 3+3+3 seating layout accommodates nine passengers, with the second row featuring three individual seats.
The right-hand seat is equipped with Easy Entry for improved third-row access. Higher trims also include power sliding doors with remote control and outward-opening windows.
On the inside it incorporates Volkswagen's latest design, highlighted by a 12-inch digital instrument cluster and a 13-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The gear selector is integrated into the steering wheel for a cleaner layout.
All models are powered by a 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine, available in two outputs: 150 PS with 360 Nm of torque, or 170 PS with 390 Nm.
Both are paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, while the 170 PS variant also offers Volkswagen's 4Motion all-wheel-drive system.
