All-new Aprilia RS 457 sport bike launched in local market
Top Gear Philippines, 6 Aug '24
Motociclista Scatola (MSI) has now officially launched the all-new Aprilia RS 457 in the Philippines.
The Italian brand now has an entry-level sport bike in its line-up. The RS 457 is an entry-level only in size and price tag. It has an aggressively styled physique hinting that it packs performance and speed.
It comes equipped with full LED lighting and integrated turn signals for a sleeker, more streamlined look. There is also a transparent windscreen up front and foldable side mirrors that we can only assume were built for runs on the circuit.
The RS 457 is powered by a 457cc liquid-cooled, four-valve, parallel-twin capable of 47.6 PS at 9,400rpm and 43.5 Nm of torque at 6,700rpm. This engine is mated to a six-speed manual transmission with an optional quick shifter.
It runs on 17-inch front and rear aluminium alloy wheels, weighs 175kg, and has a seat height of 800 millimetre. It's equipped with a 41 millimetre upside-down front fork and a mono shock at the rear. It also gets a 320 millimetre floating front disc brake with a four-piston Byre radial calliper and a 220 millimetre rear disc brake with a single-piston Byre calliper.
Due to Aprilia's MotoGP-based ride-by-wire system, multiple ride modes are also available. Power, torque, and traction control are also adjustable on three different levels for even further customisation.
Prices
As local media sources had reported previously, the Aprilia RS 457 starts at a competitive sticker price of PHP 348,000 (US$ 6,000). It can be had with various accessories and add-ons and is available in three different colours, namely: opalescent light, prismatic dark, and racing stripes.
