SAIC MG's Hong Kong agent has introduced three new vehicles to local car enthusiasts, marking their first appearance in the region.

These include the MG3 Hybrid+ five-door hatchback and the HS Hybrid and PHEV SUVs, which will be the first models to be launched in Hong Kong.

Additionally, the SAIC Zhiji L6, a high-performance all-electric sports car, was showcased at the event and is planned for import under the MG brand in 2025.

MG3 Hybrid+

The MG3 Hybrid+ is designed for everyday urban use. It features a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine paired with a 1.83kWh lithium battery and motor, forming a mild-hybrid system. The vehicle has a front-engine, front-wheel-drive configuration, delivering a combined output of 143 PS and 425 Nm of torque.

It is available with either a six-speed manual gearbox or an automatic transmission. The fuel efficiency is rated at 4.4-litre /100km (WLTP).

The MG3 Hybrid+ is priced at HKD 209,000 (US$ 26,900), with a discounted pre-sale price of HKD 189,000 during the IMXpo auto show.

HS Hybrid and PHEV SUVs

The HS hybrid SUV range is set to launch in Hong Kong in 2025 and offers two variants:

HS PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid)

- Powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine, a 24.7kWh lithium battery, and a single motor.
- Combined output: 371 PS and 569 Nm of torque.
- Front-wheel-drive configuration.
- Acceleration: 0-100 km/h in 6.8 seconds.
- Range: 850 km (CLTC).
- Fuel consumption: 5.3-litre /100km (WLTP).
- Competitor: Toyota RAV4 Hybrid.

HS Hybrid

- Specifications are yet to be fully disclosed.
- It will feature a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine and an electric motor with a smaller lithium battery and lower power output compared to the PHEV model.

The starting price for the HS Hybrid is HKD 329,000, with a discounted auto show price of HKD 299,000.

These new models signify SAIC MG's continued commitment to expanding its offerings and strengthening its presence in the Hong Kong automotive market.
