Aston Martin unveils limited-edition Valour

The launch of the new Aston Martin Vanquish at Aston Martin Kuala Lumpur in November 2024 was an impressive event, but the real highlight was the display of two units of the limited-edition Aston Martin Valour, showcased in the same showroom.
Unveiled in July 2023 to mark Aston Martin's 110th anniversary, the Valour is a highly exclusive model, with only 110 units set to be produced. Remarkably, two of these rare vehicles, finished in Tayos Turquoise and Buckinghamshire Green, were on display and will soon be delivered to their privileged owners in Malaysia.
The Valour's design draws inspiration from some of Aston Martin's most iconic models, including the original V8 Vantage and the Vantage-based RHAM/1 'Muncher' Le Mans race car from 1980.
It's aesthetic also evokes the 2020 Aston Martin Victor, created to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Vantage name.
Performance and engineering
Under the bonnet lies a 5.2-litre V12 engine, producing 715 PS and 753 Nm of torque. While it shares the same power output as the DBS Superleggera, it generates 147 Nm less torque.
In comparison with the new Vanquish, which succeeds the Superleggera in Aston Martin's line-up, the Valour sacrifices 120 PS and 247 Nm.
One of the most notable features of the Valour is the option of a six-speed manual gearbox, replacing the eight-speed ZF automatic rear-mounted transaxle.
This pairing of a manual transmission with a 12-cylinder engine is a rarity in modern automotive engineering, making the Valour an enthusiast's dream. The car is equipped with a mechanical limited-slip differential to enhance the direct analogue connection between the driver and the vehicle.
Additionally, its suspension features bespoke adaptive dampers, springs, and anti-roll bars, all specifically tuned for this limited edition. Reinforcements, including front and rear shear panels, a rear suspension tower brace, and fuel tank bracing, further improve torsional and lateral stiffness.
Pricing and availability
Although pricing remains undisclosed, the Valour is not merely a question of affordability; ownership is reserved for a select list of clients. This exclusivity underscores the car's significance as a collector's item and a masterpiece of automotive craftsmanship.
