Daewoo Bus unveils BF 106 at Philippines auto show

Columbian Manufacturing Corporation (CMC), the exclusive distributor of Daewoo Bus in the Philippines, has showcased the Daewoo Bus BF 106 rear-engined coach at the Philippines International Motor Show 2014 (CAMPI 2014).

The 60-seat passenger commercial vehicle is underpinned by a single deck skeleton type body which employs an electrically welded rectangular steel tube construction devoid of rivets. The side panels and moulded parts are made of galvannealed steel and Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP) respectively.

The seats are arranged in a 2+3 forward facing configuration while 2+2 seating is offered as an option. The reclining seats are upholstered in synthetic leather and every seat offers an audio console with provision for headphones.

Power comes from a six-cylinder inline water cooled 8-litre diesel engine with turbo-intercooler. The motor is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission, and has 240 PS and 883 Nm of torque on offer. Top speed is claimed to be 121 km/h while the gradeablity stands at 46%.

The bus is equipped with a full-air dual-circuit service brake and exhaust driven auxiliary brake (retarder type auxiliary brake available as an option).

Suspension duties are taken care by heavy duty semi-elliptical alloy steel leaf springs with shock absorbers. The vehicle which has a rated GVW (Gross Vehicle Weight) of 14 tonne.
