Car Guide, 18 Jul '25
Legado Motors, the official distributor of Dongfeng vehicles in the Philippines, has launched its first fully electric sedan, the E70 Pro.
The model is being marketed to private consumers, as well as to fleet operators, taxi services, and Transport Network Vehicle Service (TNVS) providers.
As part of the company's product strategy focused on electrified mobility, the E70 Pro offers a range of 420 kilometres on a single charge.
It is equipped with a 17-inch alloy wheel set, a fully digital gauge cluster, a touchscreen infotainment system, and an electronic parking brake. The interior provides seating for passengers and reflects the typical characteristics of electric vehicles in terms of driving behaviour.
The E70 Pro is powered by a 55.99-kWh ternary lithium-ion battery paired with a permanent magnet synchronous motor, producing 161 PS and 230 Nm of torque. The vehicle has undergone a range of safety and durability tests, including fire exposure, water immersion, extrusion, and heat dissipation.
Standard safety features include dual SRS airbags, an anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD), tyre pressure monitoring, rear parking sensors, and a reverse camera.
It is currently in service in selected taxi fleets in China and South America. In terms of operating costs, the E70 Pro presents lower running expenses than internal combustion engine vehicles and plug-in hybrid models.
Based on prevailing fuel prices, drivers may save approximately PHP 47 (US$ 0.80) for every 6 to 7 kilometres travelled.
Over 100,000 kilometres, estimated savings could reach PHP 783,349. The five-year maintenance cost is projected at PHP 35,000. The vehicle is priced at PHP 1,198,000 and is bundled with a wall box charger.
The launch also included the presentation of TaxiKo EV, a ride-hailing concept utilising the E70 Pro platform. By the end of the event, 65 vehicle reservations had been recorded, with some units delivered to customers on the same day.
"This launch is not merely the unveiling of a new electric vehicle," said Brennan Nathan Singson Lim, Deputy CEO of Legado Motors, during his opening remarks. "It represents the opening of doors to a smarter, greener, and more sustainable way of moving forward. The E70 Pro is our contribution to building a future where Filipino cities breathe cleaner air and citizens are empowered by reliable and intelligent mobility."
