Forland debuts S1 electric truck at 2026 Motor Show
SgCarMart, 26 Feb '26
Forland Singapore, represented by local distributor Liannex Ecotech, made its first public appearance in Singapore at the 2026 Singapore Motor Show, where it presented three all-electric commercial models: the ET5, S1 and U7.
At the event, Forland launched the S1 10-feet electric truck, positioned for zero-emission logistics applications with a focus on payload, usability and operational requirements.
The smaller G-plate ET5 was displayed alongside the S1. Both trucks have been fully homologated and are available for purchase. Forland also presented the U7 electric truck; however, the unit shown was a preview-only left-hand-drive vehicle, with a launch scheduled for the third quarter of 2026.
Forland is part of the Foton Group and operates within the light truck segment. In addition to its domestic market, the company has operations in more than 50 countries.
Singapore is among the markets it is entering. The company states that its models have been adapted to comply with local regulations and operational requirements.
Forland states that each vehicle is developed for specific commercial applications. The S1 has been developed as a dedicated commercial truck rather than as a modified van platform.
The S1 is built on a ladder-frame chassis and features a rear dual-wheel configuration. It is intended to support higher payload requirements within its segment.
For applications involving high-box or top-heavy body configurations, the S1 is equipped with a stabilising bar to support vehicle stability in urban and logistics operations.
The S1 is powered by a rear-mounted electric motor producing 136 PS and 270 Nm of torque.
It is equipped with a 63.75 kWh battery pack developed with technology support from CATL. The stated driving range is up to 340 km on a single charge. The battery system includes liquid cooling.
The cabin has been configured for daily commercial use. It incorporates durable materials and upholstery intended to provide driver support during extended operation.
Measures to address noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) include efforts to reduce squeaks, rattles and wind noise.
The S1 measures 4,995 mm in length, 1,970 mm in width and 1,985 mm in height. It is classified as a Class 3 vehicle and has an unladen weight of 1,800 kg, making it eligible for HDB season parking access in Singapore.
In Singapore, the vehicle is offered with a 10-year battery warranty (or 500,000 km, whichever comes first) and a five-year vehicle warranty (or 200,000 km, whichever comes first).
The S1 qualifies for Singapore's Heavy Vehicle Zero Emissions Scheme (HVZES), under which buyers may receive incentives of up to SGD 40,000 (US$ 31,690).
