Grand Motors, the exclusive distributor of Kia vehicles in Brunei Darussalam, recently previewed the all-new Seltos, introducing the second generation of the subcompact SUV to invited guests.
The new Seltos represents an update to one of Kia's key models, reflecting the brand's design direction and its focus on practicality and usability for modern requirements.
As a strategically important model, the all-new Seltos has been re-engineered to deliver an updated driving experience alongside improved everyday usability. Building on its established reputation for value and reliability, the model combines SUV design elements with technology and comfort features within the subcompact SUV segment.
The all-new Seltos forms part of Kia's global SUV portfolio, integrating design, packaging, and connectivity features. It reflects the brand's focus on functionality, comfort, and adaptability to varied usage requirements. It is designed to combine urban usability with family-oriented practicality. Increased cabin space and additional convenience features aim to support daily driving requirements.
Exterior design
Developed under Kia's 'Opposites United' design philosophy, the all-new Seltos incorporates SUV styling elements with modern design features. A wider stance, defined surfaces, and structured proportions are intended to enhance its overall appearance.
The vehicle measures 4,460 mm in length, 1,830 mm in width, and 1,620 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,690 mm, contributing to interior space.
At the front, the design includes a wider grille integrated with Kia's star map lighting signature and a welcome light sequence. Flush door handles are designed to support aerodynamic efficiency and visual integration. The side profile includes diagonal character lines, a floating roofline, and pronounced shoulder contours. Contrasting cladding and satin silver accents are included as part of the exterior design.
At the rear, vertically oriented tail lamps extend across the tailgate. The X-Line variant includes dark gunmetal finishes and reinforced lower garnishes, while the GT-Line variant features body-coloured accents.
The all-new Seltos is offered in 10 monotone exterior colours: Morning Haze, Magma Red, Frost Blue, Ivory Silver Gloss, Pewter Olive, Imperial Blue, Gravity Gray, Aurora Black Pearl, Glacier White Pearl, and Dark Gun Metal, the latter being exclusive to the X-Line variant. These elements define the Seltos within the subcompact SUV category, combining functional design with exterior styling features.
Interior and comfort
The interior of the all-new Seltos has been updated to address requirements related to commuting, family travel, and extended journeys.
A low, horizontal dashboard is designed to improve forward visibility and create a more open cabin layout, while packaging provides headroom and legroom for occupants. The layout, combined with selected materials, defines the cabin environment.
Key features include customisable 64-colour ambient lighting in the GT-Line and X-Line variants. The second-row seats offer a total recline range of 24 degrees, with both forward and backward adjustment. A Bose audio system is available in the GT-Line and X-Line variants.
Performance and powertrain
Built on Kia's K3 platform, the new Seltos incorporates updates to body rigidity, noise insulation, and chassis tuning. Suspension and steering systems have also been revised. The all-new Seltos is equipped with a Smartstream 1.5-litre petrol engine, intended to support both urban and long-distance driving requirements.
