The Mahindra XUV 7XO has been launched in India at a starting price of Rs. 1.36 million (US$ 15,140), applicable to the first 40,000 units.

The 2026 SUV is a facelifted version of the XUV700. Pre-bookings were closed prior to the launch, with fresh bookings scheduled to open on January 14th, 2026.

Deliveries for select variants will commence on the same day, followed by a phased rollout of the remaining variants through April.

The XUV 7XO competes with the Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus, and Hyundai Alcazar. The price of the XUV 7XO ranges from Rs. 1.36 million - Rs. 2.41 million.

Exterior and interior

The XUV 7XO features revised front LED headlamp units with boomerang-shaped daytime running lights, a new front grille, and updated tail-lights with hexagonal detailing. The side profile remains similar to the outgoing XUV700, with the addition of a new alloy wheel design.

Inside, the XUV 7XO includes a revised upholstery colour scheme and a three-screen layout comprising a digital driver's display, a central infotainment screen, and a dedicated front passenger display, each measuring 12.3 inches. Other features include a two-spoke steering wheel, a touch-based heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) control panel, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, a powered Boss Mode for the front passenger seat, a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system with Dolby Atmos, and wireless charging.

Safety

The top variant of the Mahindra XUV 7XO is equipped with seven airbags, a 540-degree camera, an electronic parking brake with auto-hold, and Isofix child-seat anchorages. A Level 2 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) suite is available, including adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, and automatic emergency braking. The XUV700 received a five-star rating in the 2021 Global NCAP crash tests, and Mahindra states that the XUV 7XO has been engineered to achieve comparable performance under Bharat NCAP.

Engine and gearbox

The Mahindra XUV 7XO is offered with a 206 PS 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine and a 188 PS 2.2-litre diesel engine. Transmission options include six-speed manual and six-speed automatic gearboxes. On higher trims, the diesel engine paired with the torque-converter automatic transmission is also available with an all-wheel drive configuration.
